Left Spar Countersunk? (6/19/10)

1.3 Hours -

I had to go to work this morning, but I managed to find a little time to work on the plane before my girlfriend got home from her work.  Therefore, I spent almost an hour and half countersinking the bottom side of the left spar.  As with the top, I had to attach all the platenuts that will be used to attach the tanks.  Then, countersink the screw hole using the platenut as a guide.  The only difference from the top of the spar is that there are also 12 platenuts sites that need to be countersunk for a #6 screw…these will be used to attach three inspection covers.  Since the countersinks for the #6 screws are much smaller than those for the #8s, I countersunk the holes prior to attaching the platenuts.  Once all of the holes were countersunk, I applied some self-etching primer and called it a day.

Now I get to repeat the entire process on the right spar!
