1.5 Hours -
This evening, I removed the remaining blue vinyl from the inside surface of the right bottom outboard skin. With this vinyl removed, I was able to cleco the skin to the wing where it now waits to be riveted.
With the right skin ready to rivet, I turned my attention to the same skin on the left side. I spent most of the work session removing vinyl strips from the skin. Once the plastic was removed, I deburred the edges of the skin using a small Scotchbrite wheel on my die grinder. Then, I used various Dremel tools and some emery cloth to slightly enlarge and smooth the hole that I had cut for the pitot mast.

This shows how the pitot mast attaches to the spar with three rivets. There are also two rivets that will attach the mast to the skin.
Tomorrow, I’ll deburr the rivet holes on this skin, and, hopefully, have time to dimple and prime it as well.
