I didn’t really feel like riveting today, so I decided to start working on the ailerons rather than rivet on the bottom outboard wing skins.
Like other stiffeners in the kit, the aileron stiffeners came as pre-punched and notched stock that needed to be separated. There were eight pieces of stock in the kit, and each piece needed to be cut into four stiffeners for a total of 32 stiffeners. Thanks to the notches in the material, separating them is just a matter of connecting the notches with a line and, then, cutting that line with a bandsaw.

Each piece of stiffener stock is cut into 4 stiffeners. After cutting the stiffeners and removing the plastic, I had a big pile of stiffeners and a big pile of plastic.
After the stiffeners were separated, I pulled the blue vinyl from the and started finishing the edges. This is how I spent the majority of my time in the garage today. At the end of the day, I had half (16) of the stiffeners finished. To get them out of the way, I clecoed them to the left aileron rear skin where they wait for final drilling as I finish the rest of the stiffeners.

After cutting the stiffeners and removing the plastic, I had a big pile of stiffeners and a big pile of plastic.
